Hello, I am Ute Barnickel, founder of Barnickel & Fellows.

After graduating from high school, I pursued a business administration degree in hotel management. I worked in sales and marketing and later joined an international advertising agency. In 1995, I took over administrative management of a data marketing agency in Frankfurt, followed by a move to the German subsidiary of an American software company. I commuted between London and Frankfurt and was responsible for the coordination of business processes within Europe.

I next moved to the Frankfurt branch of an international law firm advising corporations, financial institutions and governments. In my role as head of administration, I also conducted recruitment for back-office positions. After relocating to Switzerland in 2002, I worked for a global executive search firm in Zurich for several years before joining an established HR consulting company. I was in charge of the executive assistant segment, focusing exclusively on assignments for assistants to Chief Executive Officers, Executive Managers and Board Members. I also led numerous searches for Family Offices and Foundations. From working at Dr. Bjorn Johansson Executive Search Boutique in Zurich to opening my practice, I have been fortunate to work with diverse clients, candidates and fellows.
From the very start, I was genuinely intrigued by the field of assistant recruitment, and I learned the business from the bottom up while promoting my own unique style and pitch. I am a regular contributor and blogger to the Swiss magazine Miss Moneypenny and the author of articles published in expert journals. Staying ahead of frequents changes in the field of executive assistance is my sixth sense. With sincerity, I can say that I bring an exceptional level of enthusiasm, dedication and a nuanced perspective that makes BARNICKEL & FELLOWS a holistic solution for our clients.

Hello, I am Thomas Landolt, Partner at Barnickel & Fellows.

I have been a partner with Barnickel & Fellows since its founding in 2017. My goal is to identify the best talents for our clients, which enable them to prosper in a constantly changing environment. I began my career with Netstal-Maschinen AG, a world-leading manufacturer of plastics machinery. During my ten-year tenure with the company, I held various business analysis and development positions in marketing and communications, and financial controlling and reporting. These led me from Netstal’s headquarters in Switzerland to the US and several other countries across Europe and Asia.

In 1998, I joined Swissair, where I assumed various important product management roles in Zurich and Brussels before becoming the airline’s Head of Product Strategies and Development. At the end of 2001, I joined UBS, where I served as a Senior Project Manager in the bank’s HR department. In this role, I supported a strategic initiatives related to the establishment of the bank’s global HR organization. My following assignments focused on aspects of human capital management, including developing and implementing a role-profiling framework for the bank’s corporate center, rolling out a new recruiting platform in the Swiss market, leading the Global Resourcing Program during its development phase, and implementing the program’s deliverables in New York. In 2011, I joined Credit Suisse as a Senior Project and Product Manager, where I led various strategic projects in the ATM, debit cards, and payment solutions areas. In addition, I was responsible for the bank’s ATM business for several years.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Zurich, focusing on marketing, finance, and business law. Throughout my international career, I have acquired a broad range of function-related and industry-specific competencies, particularly in project management, business communication, and general management. Since I grew up in the Swiss mountains, I am passionate about alpine landscapes, and I love outdoor sports and traveling. I speak German, English, and French.
